About Rica

Rica Davis, FNP-C, is Dermacare’s most senior mid-level provider and brings a wealth of diverse patient care experience to our practice.

Born in Ohio but raised in Texas, Rica’s bright smile and southern charm fill the hearts of the Dermacare staff and our patients. Rica completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University in May 2003, where she majored in Communications, Technical Writing, and Spanish. Rica’s undergraduate education only better positioned her to take on nursing school at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she worked in the Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and later started to specialize in Pediatric Emergency Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner.

Rica’s passion for helping children and families led her to her next journey at the nationally ranked and largest children’s hospital in California, Rady’s Children’s Hospital. At Rady’s, Rica spent countless hours caring for sick children and their families in San Diego, treating everything from bumps and sniffles to emergency life-threatening conditions. While she describes her time taking care of children as one of the most rewarding chapters of her life, a door opened in the aesthetic health care industry for Rica when she came in for treatment at Dermacare.

After becoming acquainted with Dr. Birchall, he soon offered her a position as a provider at both of our Carlsbad and Rancho Bernardo clinics. Turning her developing passion for skin care, Botox/Dysport, and filler into her career, Rica accepted the position in the earlier part of 2019. From there, she continued training and furthering her education to become an injectable and laser expert. Rica continues to build a portfolio of impressive results and outcomes with her growing list of loyal clientele.
