Potenza™

Microneedling and radiofrequency have been around for a long time, and their applications are excellent for treating different skin concerns. With Potenza™, these two treatments have merged into one tool. With the ability to treat conditions like wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, or even acne, Potenza™ can help you recover your youthful glow in just a few sessions. At Dermacare Medical Aesthetics, we offer Potenza™ treatments to anyone who wants to improve the quality of their skin.

Candidates for Potenza™

Potenza™ can be useful for a wide range of candidates, especially for people in their late 30s or 40s. If you want to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and mild to moderate skin laxity issues, then you might benefit from the Potenza™ procedure. As the treatment induces a new production of collagen, patients with uneven skin texture and acne scars might also use it to reduce the intensity of these imperfections.

How Potenza™ Works

Potenza™ is a procedure that combines the benefits of radiofrequency and microneedling to trigger the skin’s healing response. The process involves using fine needles to create microscopic injuries to the skin, after which RF energy is delivered through the injuries. This helps stimulate collagen and skin renewal at a deeper layer, remodeling the skin from within, regardless of the targeted area.

Potenza™ Recovery

One of the greatest perks of Potenza™ is that it requires minimal recovery time, with the side effects typically subsiding within 48 hours. During this time, you might notice some mild redness, slight tenderness, and perhaps a bit of swelling. However, these side effects should not get in the way of your daily routine. Most patients can return to work right after the appointment, although you should avoid direct UV exposure for now.

Potenza™ Results

Results from Potenza™ are gradual, as you will have to wait for the new collagen to develop and mature. You should notice some improvement in skin firmness within the first two to three weeks, but optimal results should settle within three months. Depending on the level of skin laxity you are dealing with, you may need two to three more treatments spaced a couple of weeks apart. The results are long lasting, and you can usually enjoy them for up to one year.

Silhouette InstaLift® (Thread Lift)

Aging is a relentless process. Over the years, you’ve probably felt your body become increasingly less firm and youthful. Maybe you feel it in your knees or back or notice your eyesight isn’t what it once was. For this purpose, the Silhouette InstaLift® treatment can offer a lifting effect while tightening the sagging skin.

Candidates for Silhouette InstaLift®

Patients who notice moderate sagging and creases caused by collagen loss might benefit from the Silhouette InstaLift® treatment. Often, the first place where signs of the aging process appear is the face. This is because your face has dozens of muscles working hard throughout the entire day without rest. If you are between your mid-30s and 50s and notice jowls, nasolabial folds, and sagging cheeks, then you may benefit from the Silhouette InstaLift® procedure.

How Silhouette InstaLift® Works

Silhouette InstaLift® uses biocompatible cones and sutures made from glycolide and L-lactide, which dissolve naturally as time passes. When the sutures are pulled into a higher position, they automatically lift the skin along with them and offer the effect of a facelift without the actual surgery. As the threads and cones move underneath the skin, they cause micro-injuries, constantly triggering a new elastin production. Since the sutures are biodegradable and are absorbed by the body within 18 months, you do not have to schedule a removal appointment.

Recovery from Silhouette InstaLift®

Recovery from Silhouette InstaLift® is relatively short, with most side effects dissipating within one week. The most common symptoms are bruising, mild swelling, and some tenderness at the insertion points, especially when performing movements. You might want to keep these at a minimum during the first week to keep the recovery short. Strenuous activities and facial massages should also be kept at a minimum, as direct pressure can affect how the thread and cones settle.

Silhouette InstaLift® Results

The first results of the Silhouette InstaLift® treatment are visible right after the treatment, as the threads have already pulled the skin into a higher position. That said, these effects will keep improving over the next few months, as the threads trigger the production of new collagen. Final results often appear within three to six months after the treatment, with the benefits lasting up to two years. At that point, you may schedule another Silhouette InstaLift® treatment to maintain your results.

MyEllevate®

MyEllevate is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to achieve neck rejuvenation by tightening the skin beneath the chin. It provides dramatic results that many patients consider to rival a neck lift. It was developed by a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills and has since grown in popularity among people looking for a way to solve an unwanted double chin or skin laxity.

Candidates for MyEllevate®

The best candidates for MyEllevate® are those in their mid-30s to 50s looking to treat early signs of facial skin sagging. The procedure is mainly recommended to tighten the skin around the neck and jawline area, offering the benefits of a neck lift without the actual surgery. If you notice the formation of jowls or want to improve your jawline contour, making your neck look more elegant, then the MyEllevate® procedure can bring you closer to your beauty goals.

How MyEllevate® Works

MyEllevate® works by using a suspension suture system based on ICLED® light-guided technology. This allows for precise suture placement in the underlying tissue, lifting and tightening the neck and jawline. Unlike other procedures that use dissolvable sutures, the ICLED® ones are permanent and lodged deeper into the tissue, bringing long-lasting results. Over time, the movement of the suture will trigger deep collagen production, improving the structure and firmness of the skin.

MyEllevate® Recovery

Since MyEllevate® is a non-surgical procedure, recovery is quick and straightforward. For the most part, patients need between four to seven days to fully recover. You might have to wear a chin strap at the beginning to ensure the skin is pulled into the appropriate position. Initially, you might notice some mild bruising, swelling, tightness, and potential dimpling, but they should subside within a couple of days. Taking the first day off and avoiding excessive facial movement within the first week would be a good idea.

MyEllevate® Results

Most patients notice an immediate lifting effect after the procedure, as the sutures are already pulling the skin in a “lifted” position. These results will improve over time as the swelling subsides, with your neck and jawline looking slightly more elegant after a week. Final effects can take up to three to six months to settle, as you must wait for the collagen and elastin to mature. Since the sutures are there to stay, the results can last several years, during which you can improve them with other collagen induction treatments. You can also adjust or re-tighten the skin during an appointment if it starts sagging again.

Laser Liposuction

If you have lost weight through diet and exercise but still have extra, unsightly fat pockets that refuse to respond, then you might want to consider a laser liposuction treatment. While diet and exercise are healthy ways to lose weight and achieve and maintain a healthy weight, they might not be the best tools to get the sculpted body you want. This is because not all fat will respond to diet and exercise equally, leaving you with extra fat you can’t lose and ruining your look despite your best efforts.

Candidates for Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction is an effective option for anyone with pinchable subcutaneous fat, but some patients fit the candidate criteria better than others. For instance, the best candidate is someone who is near their ideal weight yet has fat deposits that do not respond very well to dieting and exercise. They should have realistic expectations, as this is a body sculpting treatment, not a weight loss option. Patients should have good skin elasticity, as they need to adapt to the new body contour for the best results.

How Laser Liposuction Works

Laser liposuction is an upgrade from the traditional liposuction technique, the latter using small, thin cannulas to gently suction subcutaneous fat. The difference is that laser lipo also features a laser option, which sends the energy toward the fat cells, liquifying them before removal. This makes the fat easier to destroy and remove, improving overall results. The warmth of the laser also offers a skin-tightening effect, as it stimulates elastin and collagen production.

Laser Liposuction Recovery

Recovery from laser lipo is shorter when compared to traditional liposuction, as the melting of fat reduces tissue trauma during removal. You can expect to return to your usual self within two weeks, but you should avoid extensive exercise within the next couple of days, as this can worsen the bruising. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, and slight pain, but they can be controlled using OTC medicine. You should wear a compression garment during the first few days, as this can keep the swelling at a minimum.

Laser Liposuction Results

The fat removal effect of laser liposuction is pretty much immediate, but the swelling often conceals the results. You may notice that your contour has become more defined after about two weeks, but the body will keep expelling fat cells destroyed by the laser. After about one month, you might also notice the skin getting tighter as the new collagen has finished maturing. Final results often settle in three to six months, and the eliminated fat cells can no longer return. Still, new cells can form, so you should follow a healthy lifestyle while scheduling regular laser lipo procedures.

Is Non-Invasive Skin Tightening Painful to Get?

Non-invasive skin tightening uses procedures such as laser or microneedling to trigger the production of collagen and elastin, which can cause slight discomfort. That said, while the procedures are well-tolerated by most patients, numbing agents are often used to ensure comfort.

Can Skin Tightening Treatments Be Combined?

You can mix various skin-tightening treatments if you want a more dramatic effect. This is especially the case if you have numerous areas you wish to treat simultaneously. For example, procedures like MyEllevate® are frequently combined with laser liposuction, offering a comprehensive body-sculpting effect.

Are Skin Tightening Procedures Permanent?

While most skin tightening treatments are long lasting, they do not stop the aging process. The more you advance in age, the less collagen you can produce naturally. For this reason, most skin tightening treatments should be redone at least once a year. Some procedures, such as MyEllevate®, can last longer, but you may still need to come in for adjustments or yearly checkups.
